Last year was the first time the Congenital Heart Warriors Walk was held in Abbotsford.

The second Congenital Heart Warriors Walk takes place in Abbotsford on Saturday, Feb. 14.

The event is held at Mill Lake Park, leaving from and ending at shelter No. 4 off Bevan Avenue.

Registration starts at 9:30 a.m., and the walk begins at 10:30 a.m. The cost to participate is $25 for adults and youths and free for kids 10 and younger.

Hot chocolate, a light snack and a Canadian Congenital Heart Alliance (CCHA) drawstring gym bag will be provided with each registration.

The event also includes games, balloons and a demonstration by Sun Hang Do Martial Arts.

The event is hosted by the CCHA, which advocates for congenital heart disease awareness and health. The organization says congenital heart disease is the number one birth defect, affecting an estimated 257,000 Canadians.
