Dormick Park elementary in Abbotsford is participating in the Indigo Love of Reading Foundation’s 2018 Adopt a School program.
As part of this, the Coles store in Sevenoaks Shopping Centre is raising funds from now until Oct. 7 for new books and resources at the school.
A total of 190 schools across Canada are participating in the Adopt a School program, with a goal for each school to add one book for every child.
Canadians can also donate online at adoptaschool.indigo.ca to support more than 400 additional participating schools, 73 of which are in B.C.
Supporters can share a story on a school’s online page or “heart” a story, which will spark a book donation to the selected school.
To date, the Love of Reading Foundation has provided more than $28 million to elementary schools across Canada.
