Activities celebrate youth week

Events include photo exhibit at The Reach

Youth Week (May 1 to 7) will be celebrated in Abbotsford with several activities, including an exhibit titled Through the Eyes of Youth.

The exhibit was planned and executed by a group of leadership students in Grades 10 to 12 who make up the Abbotsford Youth Commission’s Youth Council.

All youth ages 12 to 18 in Abbotsford were invited to take part in a photo contest with two questions in mind: What do you like about Abbotsford? What would you change in Abbotsford if you could?

A selection of photos will appear in the exhibit, which runs until May 28 at The Reach Gallery Museum (32388 Veterans Way) and has an opening reception on Monday, May 4 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The photos capture positive and negative aspects of the community from a youth perspective.

– a family dinner night on Friday, May 1 at 5:30 p.m. at Matsqui Rec Centre (MRC);

– a movie night on May 2 at 8 p.m. at Abbotsford Rec Centre (ARC);
