Abbotsford school creates Remembrance Day ceremony video

Students from Abbotsford School of Integrated Arts make 43-minute video

Students at Abbotsford School of Integrated Arts (Sumas Mountain) have created a Remembrance Day ceremony video.

The school for Grades 7 to 12 usually does a live ceremony that integrates student learning about the importance of Remembrance Day with the arts.

But because they cannot gather or create performances due to the pandemic, this year they created a film version.

The video incorporates many of the elements they always have, such as the wreath-laying ceremony, O Canada and a moment of silence.

The video consists of student work, creation and art. Students took charge of capturing the videos and editing it into its 43-minute final version.

The school hopes that the public chooses to watch the video together with their household on Remembrance Day.
