Mary and Henry Lloynd of Abbotsford celebrated their 75th anniversary on July 10.

Mary and Henry Lloynd of Abbotsford celebrated their 75th anniversary this month.

The pair were married on July 10, 1942 in North Battleford, Sask., and have lived in Abbotsford since 1964.

Henry, now 97, was a foreman for the District of Abbotsford and a loyal member of the Royal Canadian Legion, and Mary, 95, was an ardent seamstress.

They introduced their love of square dancing to the area as founding members of the Swinging Hub square dance club.

The pair say they love the Fraser Valley and have found it to be a wonderful place to raise their four children. The couple also have 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A celebration to honour their silver anniversary was held July 8.
