4-H Canada’s annual general meeting was held in Abbotsford last week from May 28 to 31.

With B.C. 4-H celebrating 100 years this year, the staff and hosting committee were happy to welcome 4-H participants from around the country.

The organization says that a new century will give them an opportunity to reflect on the past 100 years, challenges overcome and successes celebrated.

The three day event included visits to many of B.C.'s finest agricultural sites.

The annual general meeting took place Thursday morning (May 29) where 4-H Canada laid out its vision to move to position 4-H as one of Canada’s leading positive youth development organizations. The new Youth Advisory Structure was also unveiled to allow for continued input from youth members at the provincial and national level.

The gala evening included a number of addresses including 12-year-old Fraser Valley 4-H’er Ben Sauer talking about what 4-H meant to him.

The 2015 4-H Canada AGM will be hosted in Fredericton, NB from June 11-13.
