Envision Angel Tree helps families in need

Envision Financial’s Angel Tree program collected more than 1,300 gifts, 3,400 pounds of food and $15,000 for children and seniors throughout B.C. this season

In Abbotsford, the donations were distributed to the Abbotsford Food Bank and Christmas Bureau.

All 20 Envision branches displayed a decorated Christmas tree with ornaments that represented a child, senior or food bank.

Members of the community were invited to take an ornament from the tree and return it with a new unwrapped gift or non-perishable food item.

“The Angel Tree program through Envision has been such a blessing,” said Kristine Ewald, coordinator for the Abbotsford Christmas Bureau.  “Through the support of Angel Tree and other community donations, we will be able to help fulfill the Christmas wishes of over 800 families and seniors this season.”

This year’s program also included the addition of a YouTube video which highlighted the need for donations. For every view, Envision donated $1 to the Angel Tree partners. The video garnered over 2,000 views, resulting in an extra $2,000 to local charities.
