Mike McCardell to sign copies of new book

Fans in Abbotsford will have another opportunity to meet TV personality and best-selling author Mike McCardell at a book signing for his new book, Unlikely Love Stories.

On Sunday, Dec. 16, McCardell will be appearing at Costco (1127 Sumas Way) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.. It is his second visit to Abbotsford in the past three months.

In Unlikely Love Stories, McCardell showcases some of the many inspiring tales he has presented on television over the years.

He introduces us to Dorothy, who has delivered homemade Valentine cards to her neighbours for 20 years; and Gregory and Helen, who met one day and got married the very next (and have now been married for three decades). He also talks about his love of spitballs, the love between Piko – a retired police horse – and his devoted caretakers; and the love between a mother and son he witnessed one afternoon at the German Christmas Market.

Between now and Feb. 28, partial proceeds from each sale of Unlikely Love Stories will be donated to Variety – The Children’s Charity. McCardell’s previous seven books have raised over $80,000 for Variety.

Variety raises funds and disburses grants to individuals and families throughout the province. With over 1,300 grants given every year, Variety helps pay for medical emergencies, therapies, specialized equipment and drug prescriptions.
