MARKET AT ASIA

Abbotsford School of Integrated Arts (32041 Marshall Rd.) holds a “handmade and vintage market” on Saturday, Nov. 24 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Creations form local artisans will be sold. Admission is free.

TRADE SHOW

The Upper Sumas Women’s Institute hosts a women’s trade show on Saturday, Nov. 24 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Upper Sumas Elementary (36321 Vye Rd.). Local women’s businesses will be showcased. Admission is free.

CHRISTMAS TEA

The BC Teen Challenge women’s centre in Abbotsford holds a Christmas tea and open house on Saturday, Nov. 24 from 2 to 5 p.m. Hand-crafted jewelry, cards and baked goods will be sold. Call 1-888-575-3930 (ext. 3) for the address.

AUTHOR VISITS

Author and TV personality Mike McCardell will sign copies of his new book, Unlikely Love Stories, on Saturday, Nov. 24 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Coles in Sevenoaks Shopping Centre, 32900 South Fraser Way.

LEDGEVIEW DANCE

A Winter “Soulstice” dance featuring the live band Lady and the Tramps takes place Saturday, Nov. 24 at Ledgeview Golf Course,  35997 McKee Road. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Music goes from 7 p.m. to midnight. Tickets are $5 at the door.

GERMAN SING-ALONG

A German sing-along featuring Advent and Christmas carols takes place Saturday, Nov. 24 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church (corner of Ware and Marshall). Info: Anneliese at 604-859-0822

BAKE SALE AT LEGION

The ladies auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion in Abbotsford holds a Christmas tea and bake sale on Saturday, Nov. 24 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the legion, 2513 West Railway.

TOGETHER AFTER 5

Abbotsford After 5 invites women to a festive dinner on Monday, Nov. 26 at the ABC Restaurant (32080 Marshall Rd.), starting at 6:30 p.m. The event features a “second time around” fashion show and speaker Sherry Loewen discussing “never a dull moment” stories about teens. COMPUTER CLASSES

Registration is on Monday, Nov. 26 for the next set of computer classes hosted by the Abbotsford Social Activity Association. Register from 11 a.m. to noon at 2631 Cyril St. Classes are held Tuesdays and Thursdays for three weeks, starting Nov. 27. Beginners are at 9 a.m. and intermediates are at 11 a.m. Cost is $60.

HEALTH CENTRE EVENT

Abbotsford Youth Health Centre celebrates its second anniversary with an open house on Tuesday, Nov. 27 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. A brief presentation takes place at 6 p.m.  The centre is located in Abbotsford Regional Hospital (32900 Marshall Rd.). For directions, look for the sandwich board sign inside the main entrance.

PARKINSON’S PRESENTATION

A presentation on Parkinson’s disease research takes place Wednesday, Nov. 28 at Cascade Community Church, 35190 DeLair Rd. Lunch is served at 11:30 a.m., followed by the presentation at 12:30.
