DRIVE ONE EVENT

The Abbotsford Skipping Sensations hold a Drive One 4 Ur School fundraiser on Saturday, Nov. 10 at Robert Bateman Secondary (35045 Exbury Ave.) from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. For every person who test-drives a Ford vehicle, Ford of Canada and Magnuson Ford Sales Ltd. will donate $20 to the Skipping Sensations.  One test drive per household.

SCANDINAVIA CLUB

The Scandinavian Club of the Fraser Valley meets at 6 p.m. on Monday, Nov.  12 at the Masonic Hall (33860 Pine St.) for a potluck dinner with a Danish theme. LEARNING PLUS

The Abbotsford Learning Plus Society holds two classes in its fall series next week at the Abbotsford Recreation Centre (2499 McMillan Rd.), starting at 10 a.m. On Tuesday, Nov. 13, Jerry Gosling presents “The Historic Future of the BC Electric Interurban.” On Thursday, Nov. 15, Christina Ragneborg discusses “What’s Out There for Seniors.”  Info: 604-302-1685 or learningplus.ca

NATURALISTS MEET

Take a naturalist’s tour of eastern Australia, including tropical Queensland and the Great Ocean Road, with Kathy Wilkinson at the Abbotsford-Mission Nature Club meeting on Wednesday,  Nov. 14. AUTHOR’S NEW BOOK

Author Joy Neufeld will launch her new book “Never Never Never Give Up” on Saturday, Nov. 10 from 2-4 p.m. in building B at  31955 Old Yale Rd.  Book signing begins at 3 p.m.

WOMEN’S CONNECTION

Abbotsford Women’s Connection hosts its monthly brunch on Wednesday, Nov. 14 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Garden Park Tower, 2825 Clearbrook Rd. Ideas for Christmas parties and dinner tables will be presented. Guest speaker Trudy Beyak discusses “The Story Behind the Story.” Cost is $11. BETTER BREATHERS

The Mission Sumas Abbotsford Better Breathers Club meets Thursday, Nov. 15 from 10 a.m. to noon at the  Cascade Community Church, 35190 DeLair Rd. The meeting is for those who are living with chronic obstructive lung disease or asthma.
