Hawkey, the mascot for the Abbotsford Heat hockey club, enjoyed a quick ride on a swing in the new playground at Matsqui Village Park. The city hosted a re-opening celebration for the park on Saturday, Sept. 8, featuring food, street hockey, members of the Heat street team and more. The new tennis court and playground were built after the Matsqui Village Pool was permanently decommissioned last year.
