Events for Youth Week: Floor hockey, a dance and water balloon relays planned
The Abbotsford Youth Commission (AYC) is celebrating Youth Week (April 30 to May 4) with several activities.
The week kicks off on Monday from 3 to 6 p.m. at city hall, when youths who have been matched with a councillor attend the public meeting and sit at the council table.
The following day, youth are invited to meet at the AYC (32315 South Fraser Way) at 3 p.m. for “random acts of kindness.” The group will hand out flowers and balloons in and around city hall, the Abbotsford Police Department, and Fire Hall 1.
Other activities for the week include:
- A spring barbecue, water balloon volleyball and other water relay races on May 2 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Abbotsford Recreation Centre, 2499 McMillan Rd.
- A floor hockey game against the Abbotsford Police Department on May 3 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at the Ag-Rec Building at Abbotsford Exhibition Park, 32470 Haida Dr.
- A Grade 7 and 8 dance on May 4 from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Air Cadet Building at Exhibition Park.
Tickets for the dance are $7 and are available at the AYC office.
