Poetry reading for International Literacy Day

In celebration of International Literacy Day, the Fraser Valley Regional Library and the Poets Potpourri Society are presenting international poet Ibrahim Honjo as the guest reader at the Blue Moon Poetry Night.

Ibrahim Honjo was born in Yugoslavia (Bosnia and Herzegovina) in 1948; he moved to Canada in 1995. While still in Yugoslavia, he published seven poetry books from 1971 to 1993, and organized many poetry events and festivals.

Honjo has appeared in various anthologies and magazines and has won several prominent awards for his poetry.  Since coming to Canada, he has published four books:  Do Not Write This Down, Roots in the Stone, Enigma from the Stone, and Threads of My Essence.

The Blue Moon Poetry Night takes place Sept. 12, 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.  (open mic at 6:30) in the Meeting Room at the Clearbrook Library, 32320 George Ferguson Way, Abbotsford.  Everyone is welcome and admission is free.  See   www.poetspotpourrisociety.com” www.poetspotpourrisociety.com
