SUCCESS SECRETS
Nick Noorani, one of the “top 25 Canadian Immigrants” and former publisher of the Canadian Immigrant magazine is coming to Abbotsford Community Services (2420 Montrose Ave.) on Thursday, Sept. 8. He will present the Seven Success Secrets for Immigrants from 9:30 a.m. to noon in the Jasbir Saran room. MOTORCYCLE RIDE FOR WATER
The second annual “Turn On The Tap” is a 2.5-hour motorcycle ride through the Fraser Valley to raise money for Samaritan’s Purse Canada’s water filtration systems. This year’s ride takes place Saturday, Sept. 10, starting at 10:30 a.m. and leaving from Maranatha Baptist Church parking lot, 3580 Clearbrook Rd. Registration is $25 per motorcycle. Every $100 raised purchases a filtration system which can supply clean drinking water for a family of eight to 10. Online registration is at samaritan.org, or register at the event between 9 and 10 a.m.
RETIRED TEACHERS
The Abbotsford District Retired Teachers’ Association (ADRTA) invites all members to the annual “To Hell With the Bell” brunch on Tuesday, Sept. 6 at the Abbotsford District Teachers’ Association hall. Coffee is at 11 a.m., and lunch is at 11:30. The cost is $15, but is free for the recently retired teachers. To confirm attendance, call Wayne Anthony at 604-856-1750 before Aug. 31. STORY TIME AT LIBRARY
