FAMILY FUN DAY
The Clearbrook Kiwanis Club and Central Abbotsford Community School host a Family Fun Day for Literacy on Saturday, June 11 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Jubilee Park. Activities include carnival games, a bouncy castle, a sports zone, story time, and live entertainment. Free hotdogs and drinks will be provided (cash donations welcome).
HEEL AND WHEEL
The Fraser Valley East chapter of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation holds its annual Heel and Wheel fundraiser on Sunday, June 12. Participants walk, run/jog, skip, skateboard, etc. around Mill Lake. Registration is from 9 to 10 a.m., and the event begins at 10 a.m. Info: ccfc.ca

DRIVE ONE 4 U
A Drive One 4 U fundraising event takes place Friday, June 17 from 2 to 7 p.m. at the Abbotsford Eagles Hall, 33868 Essendene Ave., in support of Child Find BC. Ford of Canada will donate $20 to the charity for every test drive taken in one of their vehicles. A barbecue, face painting and other fun activities will also be on site. WALK FOR ALS
The sixth annual Fraser Valley Walk for ALS takes place in Abbotsford on Saturday, June 18 at Mill Lake Park (entrance off Bevan Road). Registration is at 10 a.m., with the 5 km walk getting under way at 11 a.m. Proceeds support research into ALS (also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease), a neurodegenerative disease, and patient services.
