The Cap-it Story. Since 1977.

Cap-it® began with the initiative of one man. In 1977 Hank Funk started manufacturing and installing truck caps in British Columbia. In spite of the fierce competition, Funk's company prospered because of his commitment to quality, value and professionalism.

As the market changed, the company grew and diversified, adding quality trailer parts and van and truck accessories. Customers were attracted by the reputation for quality and value, which the Cap-it® name represents.

By 1990, Cap-it® was an expanding business based on quality products and sound, hands-on business experience. Cap-it® began to sell franchise operations, expanding carefully to ensure future success. The success of the franchises has been based not only on providing accessories to grow the market, but also on the mentor-style of management and a proven system to run the business and market the product.

Hank Funk, founder and CEO of Cap-it International Inc. has twenty nine years of experience in the retail and service industry. Twenty of those years have been spent developing and operating the Light Truck Improvement Centre Concept. Always striving to excel in all his endeavours, Hank initially developed two corporate operated stores, which identified him as a leader in the light truck accessory industry.
Hanks’ dream of franchising his business opportunity began when he observed the failure of many potentially good businesses, often because of the lack of buying power and planning caused owners to suffer unnecessary mental stress and fatigue.
Realizing this, Hank placed sound business management principles as top priority in his organization. This philosophy has allowed him to succeed where others have failed, and is the key element in the success of the Cap-it® system.

THE PHILOSOPHYThe goal of the organization is to allow Cap-it® Dealerships to enjoy the rewards of owning a business and let the organization worry about carrying out the necessary ongoing research and development. Getting connected to a buying source allows each Cap-it® Dealership to operate effortlessly, profitably and consistently.

THE BUSINESSCap-it® truck accessory centres wholesale, retail and install top quality truck Caps and Accessories for light trucks, sport utilities, vans and 4X4’s.
