An Abbotsford company was recently among the recipients during the 2018 Wood Design Awards in B.C.
StructureCraft Builders Inc. – located on Foy Street in Abbotsford – won the Prefabricated Structural Wood Award for its industrial shop and office.
Industrial buildings are traditionally built with concrete and steel, but this structure showcased a faster way to construct such buildings using wood as the primary material, including the firm’s new product – dowel laminated lumber.
The Wood Design Awards is held by the Canadian Wood Council, with a goal to support innovation and provide leadership on the use of wood and wood products.
Awards were presented in 14 categories on Feb. 26 at the Vancouver Convention Centre.
